North Ronaldsay Sheep festival

One of our most remote islands – North Ronaldsay in Orkney – needs help to rebuild ancient stone dykes (walls) that have been damaged by winter storms. With a community of only around 50 folk, many of whom are elderly, a festival has been organised to attract helpers!
A haven for birds, and home to a unique breed of sheep, you will help islanders rebuild walls, round-up the sheep for clipping, and experience one of the most beautiful spots in the UK. There is limited accommodation on the island, but camping is encouraged. See the website to register your interest.
