This challengingÂ 64km ultra run starts and finishes in Fort William, taking in the top of Ben Nevis. You will need to take responsibility for your safety as there are limited marshals and route markers.
The Hoka Highland Fling Ultramarathon is a 53-mile trail race along the West Highland Way, through the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park. Starting in Milngavie and finishing in Tyndrum, the route is almost entirely on trails and features stunning scenery. Runners can enjoy a free beer, homemade soup and a massage following the race plus a traditional ceilidhÂ party.

They say the sun never sets in Orkney during the summer â€“ and this 100 mile race capitalises on that as it starts at 9pm on the 10th, and winds up at 9am on the 12th, so you’ll be running for at least 36 hours.
Eight laps of 13.1 miles each adds up to 100 miles or thereabouts, running on beaches and hills around the Kirkwall area. See website for further details.
