Ramblers festival of winter walks

Winter is often a fantastic time for walking. Crisp, clear days make visibility good, and it’s lovely to feel the crunch of fresh snow underfoot. It’s a good chance to burn off some of those calories you may have taken on over the festive period too. Ramblers Scotland have a range of organised walks across the country from the 19th December right through to the new year. Go on, join in! See the website for more details.

Cycling in Rural Scotland

This one day conference aims to encourage more cycling in rural Scotland. Tackling cycle safety, infrastructure and cycle tourism, it is part of an initiative by Transition Black Isle, whose aim is to cut car travel in and around the Black Isle area.

Everyone is welcome, from seasoned cyclists to beginners, and anyone in between. There will also be workshops and activities going on throughout the day.

Speakers confirmed are Highland Council convenor Drew Hendry and inspiring outdoor educator Pammy Johal.

Tickets are free, but booking is advised.
