Black Dog 5k

You don’t have to have a black dog to enter this 5k cani-cross race along Pettycur Sands in Fife – but you do need some sort of dog! Strictly limited to just 65 entrants, this end of season race is organised by Cani-Sports Scotland. See website for full details.

Race 4 of The Scottish Canicross Championship Series

Cani-Sports Scotland, Cani-Fit and Cani-Sports Edinburgh are working together in the 2015/2016 season to bring you the Scottish Canicross Championships Series.

The Championship Series will feature 4 races, you must race in at least 3 of the 4 races and your best 3 results will count for the series. Challenge yourself and spend some quality time with your dog in the process and you could be up on the podium as one of the top winners.

Ruff Dugger/Cani-fit Experience VI

This is walking your dog with a difference. If you are familiar with the sport of cani-cross, you’ll know that you run with your dog pulling you on a harness. Factor in some mud and obstacles and you have the Ruff Mudder.

Held over two days in the fantastic Auchinleck Estate, you will have to negotiate caves, ruins and of course mud ditches. You can enter as a team with or without a dog, and you can run, bike or scoot the 3km course. See website for full details.

Aviemore Sled Dog Rally

This two day timed race is held by the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain – and there will be over 1,000 of the dogs (along with Alaskan Malamutes, Samoyeds and Canadian Eskimo dogs) at the event in Aviemore. This is the 33rd year – and it is popular with participants and spectators alike. With plenty of snow this year, conditions are said to be perfect!

Bark in the Park

This is a fun run with a difference – you bring your dog with you! You don’t have to run with a dog, but it is more fun if you do… Take part in either the 6k or the 12k run. In aid of the Nicola Murray foundation for ovarian cancer, Diabetes UK and Staffordshire Rescue Scotland.
