A bike race with a difference. It’s in two sections and is aimed at teams of two, with one rider tackling a 21km road route before handing over to an MTB partner, who does nearly 15km, nearly half of it off-road. This event is being held to highlight the Black Isle’s strengths for cycling both on and off-road, hence the event’s name. It’s all part of efforts to encourage lower-carbon lifestyles and plenty of exercise, and sounds like a lot of fun. It’s also open to solo cyclists who want to do the whole thing, but pairs are the main focus. Entrants must be 18 or over.
