Wish we were there

Since setting up our Flickr group, we’ve had some great shots submitted from all over Scotland by a mixture of talented amateur and not so amateur photographers. We’ve picked just a handful from those submitted to give you a flavour.

If you’re a Flickr user, do please join in and share your adventures with us all.

Please note

All images of course remain the property of the Photographers who have kindly shared them to the group. If you like them, we’d encourage you all to show them your appreciation either in the comments at the bottom of this page or directly on their own Flickr pages.

Just another day at the office

We’ll kick off, appropriately, with a sunrise. This shot by leanish is captioned “On the way to work”. I’m sure readers will all join us in our deep envy of this particular commute!

Let it rain

Rain squall approaching Dalveen, Dumfries and Galloway

Anyone like Kenny Muir who enjoys getting out in the Scottish landscape will have long since abandoned any fear of the rain. This image, taken at Dalveen, Dumfries & Galloway is certainly no less attractive for bearing the familiar streak of a Scottish downpour and some particularly dark and brooding clouds.

High places

Triple buttress Bein Eighe
Looking a little like the surface of another planet, this is Beinn Eighe as captured by Mary Legg (check out her Flickr stream for some very dramatic seas!).

Riot of colour

Member dew1ng finds himself amid an ocean of purple.

Soaking it in

West Highland Way
Drinking in the scenery on the West Highland Way. Thanks to Robert Stokes for adding this shot which captures the view over to Meall a’ Bhuiridh and Buachaille Etive Mor.

Way out west

Thanks to taburetka for this one – a gorgeous azure sea at Vatersay.

A dose of tranquility

A gorgeous Autumnal scene at Strathconon captured by David Barnes, this one is making us feel all calm and contemplative! David is offering prints via RedBubble

Wish we were there

Camping at Durness

Thanks to Atom Wolf for adding this image. A well earned drink at the end of a day’s exploring up at Durness – it might not depict a ‘wild place’ as such but we think it deserves a place!

So once again, a big thank you to the members who have got our little Flickr group off to a great start. We hope to build on this in order to paint a really vivid picture of why Scotland’s wild places are so special to us all.
