Fabulous Scottish kayaking and canoeing will be celebrated at the new Celtic Paddle Festival

This May sees the launch of the Celtic Paddle Fest in Lochaber, the acclaimed Outdoor Capital of the UK. The event from May 10 to 11 promises something for all abilities and all styles of paddler.

The festival, which will focus on the stunning area of Arisaig, is being organised by Lochaber Chamber of Commerce in partnership with a number of local activity providers including, Arisaig Sea Kayak Centre, No Fuss Events, Rockhopper Sea Kayaking, Sea-kayak Arisaig and Wilderness Guides Canoeing.

It will cater for people who have never been in a canoe or kayak before to those who fancy learning new skills or trying out new equipment, such as sit-on-top kayaks.

The event will offer a fantastic opportunity to paddle in small group sizes and with experienced guides.

As well as the kayaking, the paddle fest will feature a triathlon, evening BBQ and entertainment on the Saturday night.

Festival goers will have the choice of whether they would like to attend for one day or for the whole weekend and can select a ticket offering two, three or four sessions on the water.

Frazer Coupland, of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, says: “If paddling is something you have always fancied then this is a great chance to give it a go.

“Join us for this unique event, the 2014 Celtic Paddle Fest, and enjoy paddling with many others in a fantastic location.”

Further information will be released shortly on with tickets available soon.

Any businesses that would like to get involved in the festival, please get in touch with Cara via [email protected].
