Walking with the Maasai – In the Footsteps of Joseph Thomson
23 February, 2015 @ 7:30 pm£8
John Hastings-Thomson knew from childhood that he had a great, great uncle who was an African explorer. Joseph Thomson, the first white man to cross Maasai territory and come out alive, had a waterfall and a gazelle named after him. It was an ambition of John’s to follow in Joseph’s footsteps, and when he learned of plans to organise a walk following part of Thomson’s Maasai Land Expedition he wanted to take part. This is the story of his trip.
