Man versus horse (South Loch Ness)

13 April, 2014 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Yes, you heard us – man versus horse. We know it sounds like a foregone conclusion, and for the last three years, this 26km race involving runners and riders, a horse has won. However, last year, there was only 10 minutes in it, so we’re looking forward to a thrilling finish! This year, horses across the finish line will be held until their heart rate slows to 64bpm, so it is feasible that a human could win.

The terrain does involve some steep climbs, affording magnificent views, and this also helps to even things out between horses and runners. There’s a feast of sandwiches and cakes at the finish line in Dores to spur competitors on. Hopefully some oats are on offer too.
