Camping by the Waterside by Stephen Neale – Reviewed by Don Currie
An appealing guide to commerical, rather than wild, campsites, 14 of them in Scotland, this is aimed at families and those who love the outdoors but also love a hot shower and a place to wash the dishes. The book is not primarily for anyone seeking solitude, but while roughing it on the move it can be great to have the odd night of comfort included on the itinerary, in which case there are some good pointers here. There’s some useful advice on sites suited to wild swimming, sailing and surfing, too.
